Definitions

“Conference” or “CORO” means the Conference of Regulatory Officers.

"Personal information" means information about an identifiable individual and includes names, addresses and contact details.

“Law Society” means New Zealand Law Society Te Kāhui Ture o Aotearoa.

General

Information about how the Law Society handles information including personal information is set out in the Law Society’s Information Handling Policy, which can be viewed here. The Information Handling Policy also contains information about your right to access and seek correction of your personal information.

This policy sets out how the Law Society collects, uses and discloses your personal information when you browse this website and if you subsequently register for the Conference. This policy should be read in conjunction with the Law Society’s Information Handling Policy.

How do we collect your personal information?

Website

The Law Society utilises the services of a third-party provider to host this website. The third-party provider is Webflow, Inc. Webflow collects certain technical information from users of this website including your IP address; the date/time you access a webpage or feature; the user agent string that identifies the browser or operating system to the server; installed fonts; mime-types; browser language and timezone; Silverlight data; installed plugins; HTTP headers; and screen resolution.

Webflow uses this information to monitor the volume of website traffic and for its own security and analytical purposes. It also uses de-identified data to create separate analytics products to help its customers understand how the website content is being used, to track conversions, and to provide other measurement metrics. Registration and attendance at the Conference

Registration and other Conference information is collected by the Law Society, or by Cvent, or by Bookwhen Limited on behalf of the Law Society. Cvent’s privacy policy can be accessed here. The privacy policy of Bookwhen Limited can be accessed here.

Collection of information is via the registration form and the Conference app.

Photographs will also be taken through out the Conference and you may appear in these photographs.

The personal information collected will be used for purposes related to your registration and attendance at the Conference including registering your attendance at social events, processing payments, producing name tags, catering and sending you emails and information relevant to the Conference.

The Law Society may also use the information for planning purposes and seeking feedback on the Conference. Photographs taken at the Conference may be used for Law Society marketing, promotional or other business purposes.

Conference app

The Conference app is provided by Cvent. The Conference app allows delegates to get the most out of their Conference experience and features:

·    The full Conference programme for sessions and speakers

·    Venue details with maps

·    Conference news and last-minute notices

Your first name, last name and organisation is loaded onto the Conference app and is visible to other delegates. Your email address is also loaded onto the Conference app for multi-factor authentication purposes but is not visible to other delegates unless you choose to add it.

Delegates using the Conference app can choose to add more information like a photo, bio, social media handles and contact details, if they wish.

If you have dietary requirements, these will be passed on to the caterers.

Who do we disclose your personal information to?

The Law Society will not disclose your personal information except in accordance with this policy, the Information Handling Policy or where it is permitted to do so under the Privacy Act 2020.
